MANILA, Philippines – As Manila celebrates this week the 30th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution that toppled the Marcos dictatorship, most presidential candidates will be campaigning in the provinces.
Presidential candidate Miriam Defensor Santiago has so far no sorties scheduled this week, while her running mate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr continues wooing voters in 4 areas.
Here's what the week of February 22-28 looks like:
Monday, February 22
- Jejomar Binay holds a motorcade in several municipalities in Misamis Oriental in the morning. He continues the motorcade in the afternoon going to Iligan City, where he will have a rally.
- Grace Poe will attend the flag raising ceremony at General Santos city hall in South Cotabato. She proceeds to her 9 am activity in Valencia, Bukidnon. Her running mate Francis Escudero will be in Sarangani.
- Rodrigo Duterte graces the launching of the Kababaihan Kagabay ng Bayan Para Kay Duterte at 6:30 pm at RJ Bistro Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati.
- Ferdinand Marcos Jr will have sorties in Muntinlupa City.
Tuesday, February 23
- Binay will go around Cagayan de Oro again before flying back to Manila.
- Poe will do the rounds in the Cordilleras. (Bontoc, Mountain Province, then hold a rally in Baguio City.)
- Duterte will be in San Fernando, La Union. At 12:30 pm, he will be at the Rotary Club of San Fernado; at 2 pm, he has a town hall meeting.
- Manuel Roxas II will go around Bulacan.
- Marcos starts his two-day campaigning in Tuguegarao City
Wednesday, February 24
- At 1:30 pm, Duterte speaks before the Philippine Association of Local Treasurers and Assessors at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
- Roxas has sorties in Nueva Ecija.
- Marcos will still be in Tuguegarao.
Thursday, February 25
- Poe will be in northern Luzon.
- Duterte will be in Cebu. At 1 pm, he will induct the new officers and members of an organization in San Isidro, Talisay City. At 4 pm, he has a rally at the Central Technological University in Danao City.
Friday, February 26
- Poe will have a rally in Eastern Visayas.
- Marcos will go back to Pangasinan.
Saturday, February 27
- Poe will be in Eastern Visayas.
- Duterte has a campaign rally at the Cotabato City Plaza in Cotabato City at 1 pm.
- Marcos will go around in Cavite.
Sunday, February 28
- Marcos will be campaigning in Bulacan.
