DAVAO, Philippines – A Philippine Air Force (PAF) helicopter crash landed in Sitio Lamsalo, Barangay Upper Suyan in Malapatan, Sarangani at around 9:40 am on Saturday, November 7.
The PAF's UH-1D helicopter was on a casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) mission for the soldiers of the Philippine Army's 73rd Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division.
There were prevailing strong winds when the helicopter was landing. The 9 passengers on board, who included the pilots, crew, and the remaining soldiers, suffered only slight injuries.
Eastern Mindanao Command Commander Lieutenant General Aurelio Baladad dispatched additional helicopters from the Tactical Operations Group XI to augment the ongoing CASEVAC and rescue operations of the soldiers of the 73rd IB. – Rappler.com
