MANILA, Philippines – Two people are reported dead while 19 are injured after a passenger bus fell into a ravine in Zamboanga City on Sunday, September 6.
The Rural Transit Mindanao Incorporated (RTMI) bus, which was traveling from Pagadian City, was reported to have gone straight off a curved road along the national highway in Barangay Pasobolong at around 5 in the morning.
It first crashed into a motorcycle driven by a 50-year-old resident before falling. The woman died on the spot.
The bus also hit a house situated at the bottom of the ravine.
According to the police, they are investigating the possibility that the driver dozed off while navigating the road. – With reports from Richard Falcatan / Rappler.com
