MANILA, Philippines – Netizens decided that health advocate Risa Hontiveros won Rappler’s 2nd Senatorial Debate, followed by economist and fellow Akbayan member Walden Bello.
In Rappler’s final online poll for the debate, 53.33% of netizens who voted said Hontiveros won the debate overall.
Bello came in second with 26.67% of votes. He edged out Valenzuela City Representative Sherwin Gatchalian, who placed second in all 3 rounds, according the polls.
For the vote of overall winner, Gatchalian slid to 3rd place with 10.18% of the votes. He was followed by Red Cross chairman Dick Gordon (7.02%), former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima (2.11%), and former drug enforcement agency chief Dionisio Santiago (0.7%).
Hontiveros’ win for overall performance mirrors her victory in all 3 rounds of the debate.
