RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – A bomb blast targeting Saudi police has killed a foreign resident in Riyadh, the interior ministry said Sunday, April 3, in an attack claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS) jihadist group.
The bombing targeted a security patrol vehicle parked near a police station in the Kharj area of Riyadh late on Saturday, the ministry said, quoted by the official Saudi Press Agency.
It did not specify the victim's nationality but said two security patrols were damaged.
ISIS said in a statement on Twitter that two explosive devices were used and "3 apostate police vehicles" set ablaze.
ISIS has claimed previous attacks on Saudi security forces as well as deadly bombings and shootings that targeted the Sunni kingdom's Shiite minority. – Rappler.com
