MANILA, Philippines – Hundreds of thousands of Filipinos gathered on Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) on February 1986 in protest against Ferdinand Marcos' oppressive regime.
The non-violent revolt shocked the world when it forced Marcos and his family to flee on February 25, restoring the country's freedom from 21 years of authoritarian rule.
